Objectives: Getting student familiar with the physical characteristics of the atmosphere as well as the dominant meteorological conditions over the oceans.
Contents: The atmosphere - Meteorological elements (temperature, pressure, humidity, wind speed, radiations) - Heat budget of the atmosphere - Hydrological cycle - Adiabatic processes - Atmospheric stability - Geostrophic and gradient winds – Dominant meteorological conditions over the oceans.
Practical: Utilization of marine meteorological stations. Meteorological instruments and measurements of various meteorological elements .Weather maps.
