Objectives: Getting the student familiar with the water exchange among the adjacent regional seas and the exchange between them and the Indian Ocean as well as the resulting effects.
Contents: History of scientific exploration in the region – Climatology - Monsoonal wind and seawater circulation patterns – Seawater exchange between Red Sea and Gulf of Aden – Seawater exchange between Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman – surface and subsurface circulation of Arabian sea and its relation to the Indian Ocean Circulation - Distribution and variation of physical characteristics - Sea level changes.
