Objectives: To provide a basic understanding of conventional surveying methods and techniques.
Contents: Basic survey measurements, angle measurements using sextants and theodolites, balancing angles; taping, tacheometry, electronic angle and distance measurements, total stations and reflectorless EDM (Electronic Distance measurements) ; traverses; coordinate geometry; differential levelling, Barometric and trigonometric heighting, effects of curvature and refraction; geodetic control surveys.
Practical: Horizontal and vertical angle measurements; distance measurements; traverses; levelling methods, including levelling from bench marks to tide staff; intersection and resection; CAD software training
