The subject of this study revolves on the portrayal of the Pre-Islamic community in the Holy Qur`an through an analytic rhetorical approach which aims at: exploring a unique aspect of the eloquence of Qur`an in shaping the characteristics of the Pre-Islamic community, demonstrating how Qur`an displays the images of this community, and extracting the most significant rhetorical features used in portraying it. To achieve that, the Graphical analysis approach is used in light of the three branches of eloquence: Badi, Meanings, Statement. The study consists of three chapters preceded by an introduction and a preface, followed by a conclusion. While the introduction demonstrates the topic- reasons for choosing it, objectives, approach, plan- the preface contains an overview of the chosen portrayal and the Pre-Islamic period. Chapter One deals with the portrayal of the religious life in the Pre-Islamic community and it consists of two parts: portrayal of atheism, and portrayal of the atheists’ denial of resurrection. Chapter Two tackles the portrayal of the Pre-Islamic social life and it contains two parts: portrayal of family- which discusses two issues: treatment of women and children- and portrayal of Pre-Islamic traditions- which consists of: restaurants, beverages and trips. Chapter Three deals with some aspects of the portrayal of such community and it includes four parts: portrayal through utterance, simile, metaphor and Types Badi. The conclusion focuses on the findings and recommendations. The Holy Qur`an negotiates with the atheists using common sense, reason, evidence and Absent on the present measurement. especially with regard to their denial of resurrection. Portrayal of atheism is found the most significant issue dealt with in all ways. As the topics of address are different, the tone and strength of address are also diversified. In addition, the use of questions in many verses and the transference of their real meanings to denial and amazement are also purposefully used. It is also found that the use of Relative is one of the most significant ways of defining occurred in the verses. The Holy Qur`an often uses Style of strike in addressing the atheists |
