The Senckenberg Research Institute and Museum of Nature

Overview :

The Senckenberg Research Institute and Museum of Nature, Frankfurt, run by SNRS has a history of almost 200 years of scientific research on marine and coastal biodiversity, ecology, and biogeography in the Red Sea Region, contributing to the development of adaptive resource use and conservation management.

Building on the scientific traditions, capacities and specialised experiences of the Parties and motivated by a mutual desire to further promote bilateral cooperation in research, conservation, environmental management, and academic and technical training, on the basis of equality and reciprocal respect, the parties hereby enter into the research agreement. The Agreement aims at promoting cooperation and exchange in biodiversity-related research on the Saudi Arabian sector of the Red Sea. It will also contribute to academic education, capacity building, renewable resource management and biodiversity conservation.
