KAU marks arrival of new research vessel

An event was held Tuesday by the Faculty of Marine Sciences to celebrate the arrival of a new research ship.
The solemn ceremony was attended by numerous senior KAU executives and deans.
Al-Azizi, an oceanographic research vessel, was specially built for KAU by the H2X shipyard, a subsidiary of Ix-Marine, a division of the iX-Core maritime group, to carry out oceanographic research.
In statements during the event, Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, KAU President, hailed the advent, saying that it was a milestone to be celebrated and an addition to a catalogue of continuous accomplishments achieved by the Faculty of Marine Sciences.
On his part, Dr Ali M. Al-Aidaroos pointed out that the introduction of the new vessel was in line with a policy of upgrading the faculty's research facilities. |
